Data analyzed

There are 3 types of markup that should be on every page of a website: Open Graph, Twitter Card, and Schema.

Open graph

Open Graph was introduced by Facebook a few years ago and is used by virtually every social media platform. It is so commonly used, that developers frequently rely on the markup being there when they are needing to generate thumbnail images, descriptions, and titles for a page.

Twitter card

Twitter Card is a markup that is only used by Twitter. They are the only social media that does this, but since they're Twitter, we can't ignore it.

Schema

Schema is the markup of search engines. Have you heard (or read) Google talk about something called structured data or Rich Snippets? Well Rich Snippets come come in the from of HTML markup or JSON-LD. The vocabulary they use is called Schema. If you've paid attention to the way that Google returns your results over the last few years, then you've noticed that Google is getting a bit smarter. This has a lot to do with this type of markup.

Data ignored

Some widgets include markup that never needs to change which means that it can be placed on the Master Pages. These options were ignored. Any markup that wasn't specifically for general webpages was also ignored.
